“Student interns may work on river restoration, curriculum development, PR campaigns, and groundwater measurement, preparing them for careers as water managers, biologists, communication specialists, well inspectors, and many other jobs,” Dr. Formisano explained.
“I’ve grown from just being involved in agriculture to understanding it—and being ready to take on more responsibility in both the financial world and the ranching world.”
“I love working with kids and helping them to become good people,” Sopala said.
“Children may attend two or more schools in a given year,” Martinez said.
“We are excited to be involved with the PERI, working to improve opportunities and outcomes for incarcerated students.”

Over the last 5 years, Drs. Garcia and Mann have secured nearly $400,000 in state grants to sustain the program and provide scholarships and stipends to over 50 participating teachers in the SLV.
“We will be visiting every school, working to build those partnerships.”
“Like many others, scholarships and other financial assistance I received as a student inspires me to give back, now that I am in a position to do so,” VP Rissler added.
“I love middle school,” she said in receiving the Adams State award.
