Advising

The faculty of the Biology Department has distributed academic advising responsibilities according to the expertise of individual faculty. As a result, individual faculty members are able to concentrate on, and become expert in, preparation required by the relatively narrow range of biological careers for which they are responsible. Thus, assignment of students to an academic advisor in Biology is driven by the specific career ambitions of the student.

It is essential that all Biology majors insure that they are assigned a Biology faculty member as an academic advisor and meet with them during the first week following matriculation.
