Graduate Student Intent to Graduate Form Submission

The Intent to Graduate Form must be submitted by the due dates listed below. Applications received after these dates will be charged a $20 processing fee. You must also notify your academic department of your late application:

  • Spring Graduation: February 15th
  • Summer Graduation: June 15th (April 1st for name in Spring commencement program)
  • Fall Graduation: September 15th

If you are a Master of Arts, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science, or Doctor of Philosophy degree seeking student and plan to graduate, you must fill out the Intent to Graduate Form in your Adams State Student Account. Failure to complete this application in a timely manner will delay conferring of your degree and receipt of your diploma.

If you do not complete all degree requirements by the end of the semester in which you intend to graduate, you must complete another Intent to Graduate Form to graduate in a subsequent semester. This application is good only for the semester indicated and does not automatically move to a later date.

It is your responsibility as the student to ensure that all graduation requirements have been met.

If you encounter any issues in applying for graduation, please email our Administrative Assistant, Karie Young, at kmyoung@adams.edu stating the issue you are encountering and your student ID 900#.

Spring 2024 or Summer 2024 Graduation

    2. Click on Student Services and Financial Aid
    3. Click on Student Records
    4. Click on Apply to Graduate
    5. Follow the questions to apply for Spring 2024 or Summer 2024

Spring 2024 Commencement Ceremony

It is our pleasure to announce the Spring 2024 Adams State University Graduate Commencement Ceremony where you will be honored for obtaining your Master’s or Doctoral degree.

Here is some important information about Adams State University’s Spring 2024 commencement ceremony for graduate students:

When: Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 1:30pm MST (ceremony will last around 1 1/2 to 2 hours; reception to follow for all graduates and guests)

Where: Plachy Hall Fieldhouse (map of ASU campus)

You must be at the Fieldhouse by 12:45pm to receive your name card and begin formation of the procession. PLEASE be punctual. 

Those not able to attend in person will be able to view the ceremony live at adams.edu/live. Please be aware those not in attendance will not have their names called. If you would like a commencement program mailed to you after the ceremony, please email graduatestudies@adams.edu with your mailing address along with how many programs needed.

Please check the draft graduate commencement ceremony program for your name and any errors or changes that need to be made. Please direct any errors or changes to Karie Young at kmyoung@adams.edu no later than April 1, 2024.

To order your cap and gown, please proceed to our Adams State Bookstore website. The deadline for orders is April 17, 2024. When ordering your cap, gown, tassel, and hood, please note all items will go to the address you provide to bring with you to the commencement ceremony if you attend. Please make sure to carry the hood on your arm as students will be hooded as part of the commencement ceremony by their graduate program representative. 

If accessibility seating on the floor is needed for your guests at the ceremony, please email graduatestudies@adams.edu with the number of seats to be reserved. Space is limited for accessibility seating accommodations.
