Transfer Guides enable students wishing to transfer from another institution of higher education to Adams State University to ensure that the coursework completed at their first institution will transfer to their chosen degree.

Adams State University has chosen to participate in multiple Statewide Transfer Articulation Agreements (STAAs)/Degrees with Designation in order to help Colorado students choose coursework in most disciplines.

STAAs are only guaranteed for transfer between Colorado institutions but can provide a guide to out-of-state students as to the courses required for each major.

Approval for courses from institutions outside of Colorado, or that are not part of a Degree with Designation must be approved by the relevant department chair.

Statewide Transfer Articulation Agreements / Degrees with Designation

A Statewide Transfer Articulation Agreement is an agreement among Colorado community colleges and universities.

These agreements allow you to graduate from a community college with a 60-credit Associate of Arts (A.A.) or Associate of Science (A.S.) degree with designation, such as an Associate of Arts in Business; enroll with junior status at a university; and complete the bachelor’s degree in no more than an additional 60 credits (for a total of 120 credits). Requirements for all Colorado STAA options can be found here:

Agreements with Trinidad State Junior College

Adams State University also has transfer agreements with Trinidad State Junior College that enable students to complete the appropriate coursework for both Associate and Baccalaureate degrees, and minimize the number of additional credits required for the BA degree.
