During his presentation entitled SPEAK (Standing Proud for Equality and Knowledge), Speaks will discuss themes presented in the movie “The Hate U Give,” including intersectionality, colorism, inclusivity and how to confront difficult issues that surround the San Luis Valley and the Hispanic culture.
Allen will discuss narrative theory, which is a therapist technique that focuses on narratives in creating meaning and making sense of the world.
