The Clinical Mental Health Program prepares counselors to serve in a variety of settings.

Our graduates have pursued careers in mental health clinics, private practice, hospitals, social services, residential treatment facilities, corrections and many other community settings.

The program is designed to provide the student with a wide range of intervention and diagnostic skills.

Through the internship experience, students begin to specialize, choosing a placement that enhances their experience in an area of community counseling of interest.

Upon completion of the MA program, the student has met one of the three requirements necessary to become a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado.

The other requirements in Colorado are passing a state mandated examination and completing 2000 hours of supervised post-MA experience.
