“I’m especially excited with these appointments,” said Ed Crowther, President of the Foundation Board.

“The intent is to address and challenge colonial perspectives, biases, and power structures in education,” according to Andréa Benton-Maestas.

Preparing for ceremonies to greeting friends and family afterward – the 2024 Spring Commencement Ceremonies celebrated all graduates.

“So I’ve always kind of had my feet in both worlds,” she said of her love for the arts and humanities.

“I feel that I will have more opportunities to pursue a passion that will give me life fulfillment, and that I can feel comfort knowing that I have a support system behind me as I continue on with life.” 

“Attending Adams State was one of the best times in my life.”

The second change that makes the LEAD program different is empowering cohorts to achieve “stackable” certificates.

In every endeavor, Dominguez is inspired by his roots as a bilingual student and first-generation college graduate.

“This collection is a tribute to the mind and heart of a splendid professor and generous benefactor of Adams State University,” said Ed Crowther.

“We spoke of personal decisions, school goals, life ahead, and past decisions. David had ambitions, goals, and plans; but he could still be goofy and fun.”
