Band Assistant – Closed

Sort, file, and stamp music and papers for Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band and Pep Band. Move band instruments and equipment which will include evenings and weekends. Student is responsible for overseeing setup and tear-down of rehearsals and concerts. Assist the Director of Bands and fulfill other Music Department duties as needed. Student must be enrolled in Concert Band (MUS 245).

Music Lab Assistant (4 positions) – Closed

Assist with operation of Music Listening and Technology Lab. Responsibilities include editing, duplicating, and designing CDs and assisting students with use of lab technology and on course projects. Must be dependable, have personality traits conducive to assisting students, have computer experience, and be able to work a varied schedule. Music lab workers must be music majors who have maintained a minimum grade of B in all core music theory and technology courses.

Theatre Job Listings

Theatre Technician (Multiple positions) – Open

Theatre technicians work in all aspects of theatrical creation/production. They begin as generalists assigned to a primary production area. No experience is expected/necessary, and all work study employees will be afforded appropriate training. Students may choose to focus on one primary area but may be asked to work in any and all areas depending on production needs. All Theatre Technicians are encouraged to seek work experiences in multiple production areas, especially in their first semesters. All employees should coordinate with the faculty and/or student supervisor of their Primary Production Area before working in another area. General hours of work are Monday – Friday 2 – 5 p.m., though some weekend or evening hours may be required based upon the position and in consultation with the faculty in charge of the assigned primary area.

Each employee will be assigned to one of the following Primary Production Areas:

  • Box Office (direct contact with audience and point of sales)
  • Costumes (costume construction and pulling, maintaining costume stocks, laundry)
  • Electrics & Sound (theatrical light rigging (hanging, focusing, etc) & digital sound work)
  • House Management (direct contact with audiences before, during, and after
    performances)
  • Scenery & Properties (set construction, painting, property building and pulling)
  • Production Stage Manager (generally an upper level student who oversees stage
    managers throughout the production season)
  • Publicity & Social Media (marketing and media of the production season including
    poster and program design and production promotion both on campus and in the
    community)
